A number of parishioners have sought clarification on the Collections in the Church and Donations to the Parish.
MAINTENANCE OF THE PARISH
This is for the general maintenance and upkeep of the Church - heat, light, repairs, grounds, salaries etc.
You can donate to this fund by setting up a monthly, quarterly or annual Standing Order with your bank or by leaving a donation into the Parish Office. Please contact the Parish Office to obtain a Standing Order Form.
We strongly appeal for more Parishioners to support this fund and/or consider increasing their existing contribution.
SUNDAY COLLECTIONS
First Collection - all monies from the first collection and from Dues are lodged to the Common Fund Diocesan Account. This money is used for the remuneration of all priests in the Dublin Diocese including retired Priests.
Second Collection - Money from the second collection is lodged to the Diocesan Share Account. This money is used to support (1) administrative and financial advice and guidance to parishes; (2) financial support to disadvantaged parishes; (3) vital work for Safeguarding & Protection service; (4) Education Secretariat; (5) Parish Pastoral Workers, Faith Development Workers and (6) programmes like Pathways.
If you have further queries at any time, please call to the Parish Office, ring 01-8392001 or

The Archdiocese of Dublin has introduced a "Tap and Go" contactless donation method to enable people to donate directly to the First Collection (Common Fund) and the Second Collection (Share Fund).
A card machine is in place in the main porch at the back of the Church for this purpose. Please note any donation through this method will be split 60% to the First Collection and 40% to the Second Collection.
Familiar collection 'baskets' and the current envelope system remain in place.
Donations in envelopes give additional financial benefit to the Diocese and the Parish in that they qualify under the charitable donations scheme for refund from Revenue.
If you have any queries, please contact the Parish Office on 01-8392001 or email: office@stfintansparish.ie
